Mitchelstown Gaa


Big Weekend Ahead For Club


Mitchelstown Gaa have a huge weekend ahead commencing on Thursday with the

Aldi.MitchelstownCredit Union,Walsh’s Yard bar sponsored Mick Lewis Memorial Golf classic.

The classic will take place Fri August 12 th with slots available also on Thurs August 11 th .At the time of

going to press some tee times are available on Thursday evening and Friday morning. Teams are ag

€150 for a team of three which includes goody bag, full meal and the opportunity to play on one of

Munster’s finest parkland golf courses. Tee box, longest drive and nearest to the pin sponsorship are

also available to any patron who for any reason who are unable take part. With the fantastic

weather forecast for the next few days late entries can be sent to Ml Price on

2070344 and we will do our best to accommodate teams. Also a sincere thanks to all the teams for

the generous tee box, longest, Drive, nearest to pin, food, club house and beverage sponsors. Also

on the day of the classic a raffle will take place with a first prize of a bottle of Midleton Very Rare

2022 which is kindly sponsored by friends of Mitchelstown Gaa , Horgan Delicatessen Hamper

,Market Place ,Corbett Court Vouchers, wine etc.


Field Development Lotto Jackpot €6,600


The next draw will take place in Walsh’s Yard Bar on this Thursday night August 18 th with a jackpot

of €6,600. Previous Numbers drawn were 7,10,20 and 22. with no jackpot winner despite a few

people matching three and coming close. The following were lucky dip winners, Breda O Regan

Kilgarriff Ballylanders,Willy O Brien c/o JJ O Brien’s , Ronald Carey C/O Js,Martin Lane online,Paki

Well done to the Ballygiblin hurlers on a fantastic win last Saturday against Ballygarvan which at

least will guarantee a place in the knockout stages in early Sept.

On Christmas 2019 Mitchelstown Gaa Mitchelstown were selling tickets for a raffle for two premium

seats for what was then the forthcoming Westlife Concert but alas we all know what happened on

March 14 th of 2020 when the country commenced what was to become a sever long lock down with

all events cancelled. Theclub held on to all sold tickets and on Monday night last the winning ticket

was drawn at a club meeting with Colm Baker being the lucky winner.


Gaa For All


A Gaa for all camp will take place, a camp which is designed for all children with additional needs will

take place at Mitchelstown Gaa pitch on Saturday August 20 th from 10-30 to 12-30. Contact Des

information.


Championship Action

Mitchelstown intermediate football team will play Glanmire on this Sat Aug 13 th in Lisgoold with

throw in at 7pm.This is a vital game for both clubs with Mitchelstown after overcoming Millstreet

and Glamire going under to Boherbue a home win would surely see us qualify and Glanmire in

relegation trouble.


On Sunday evening Aug 14 th our second string will commence championship action when they take

on Glanworth in Shanballymore at 18-30, and in the same competition are down to play Kildorrery in

Glanworth on Fri Aug 19 th at 19-00
