Mitchelstown Go Down to Aghada

Mitchelstown 0-9 Aghada 0-15

Mitchelstown’s chances of staying up in the higher grade of Cork Credit Unions Football League took

a tumble when they went under to a stronger Aghada side at he Limerick Rd grounds on Saturday

evening last, though still in with a chance we would have to beat Na Piarsaigh away in our last game

on the weekend of June 26 th and hope that one of Knocknagree,Castletownbere or Bishopstown

drop points in their last game.Shane Beston opened the scoring which was quickly cancelled only for

Pas McGee to restore the lead. The stronger Aghada team then took control adding five points to a

single Jimmy Sheehan score to leave the half time score of 0-8 to 0-3. Points from S Cahill 0-2, S

Beston and S Walsh to two Aghada points left the score at 0-7 to o-10 and all to p[lay for. As in the

first half Aghada again regained control and four points answered only by the boot of S Walsh 0-2

left the full time score 0-9 to 0-15.

Team M Maher,F Herlihy,A Donegan,K Roche,J O Sullivan,D Dineen,P Molloy, P McGee (0-1) S Walsh

(0-3), C Hyland, S Beston (0-2) S Kenneally, D R Price, S Cahill (0-2) J Sheehan (0-1)
