Last Cork Credit Unions League Game Tonight Thursday


Mitchelstown intermediate footballers will play their last league game in the Cork Credit Unions

league away to Na Piarsaigh tonight Thursday June 23 rd with throw in at 7-30pm. To qualify for

division two status in the new league set up for 2023 nothing short of a win against Na Piarsaigh will

do and even then one of Knocknagree,Castletownbere or Bishopstown would need to drop points in

their last game.


Mick Lewis Memorial Golf Classic Confirmed for August 12 th

,The Mick Lewis Memorial golf classic has been confirmed for Fri August 12 th with slots available also

on Thurs August 11 th . Persons who have previously played or sponsored will be contacted in the

coming days and if you wish to play on the shotgun on Friday get your name in fast as this always fills

up very early. Teams are again €150 for a team of three which includes goody bag, full meal and the

opportunity to play on one of Munster’s finest parkland golf courses. Tee box, longest drive and

nearest to the pin sponsorship are also available to any patron who for any reason who are unable

Field Development Lotto Jackpot €5,800

The draw will take place in Walsh’s Yard Bar on this Thursday night June 23 rd with a jackpot of

€5,800. Numbers drawn in the previous draw were 1,12,13 and 15 with no jackpot winner. The

following were lucky dip winners, Dave Keane Ballybeg, Eabha Dunne C/o Paddy Dunne and John

Cavanagh’s Of Fermoy Division Three Football League

Mitchelstown have qualified for the semi-final of the Cavanagh’s Of Fermoy Division Three Football

League and fixture will be announced shortly.

face Dublin in Croke Park this coming Saturday June 25 th with throw in at 6pm.

Huge Congratulations to our u14 hurlers on winning the league title on Thursday night last to

complete a double in hurling and football.


Well Deserved

Well-deserved and well done to George Donegan who was presented with a lifetime achievement

award for his services to all the underage teams down through a lot of years.


Dave Courtney R.I.P

Though Dave went to his eternal rest on the 15 th of May 2020 it his only now that his ashes are been

brought home and on this coming Friday June 24 th at 12 noon a full funeral service will be held in

Glanworth church followed by the interment of his ashes in St Dominic’s Cemetery. Dave played

intermediate football with Mitchelstown in the early eighties. To his immediate and extended family,

we offer our sympathy.
