Double win For Footballers
The footballers had double success over the weekend with both teams recording wins in their respective leagues.
Mitchelstown 2-17 Dromtarriffe 0-11
Mitchelstown gathered their second brace of points when they accounted for Dromtarriffe in the Cork Credit Unions football league on the above score line at Mitchelstown on Sunday last. When Aron O Brien scored from the penalty spot in the third minute Mitchelstown were always in control and the same player added three more first half points to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Dylan Reidy Price also raised a green flag and a brace pf points from Sean Walsh, Ml Walsh and Joseph ensured the win was in the bag long before the final whistle.

Mitchelstown gathered their first win in the Cavanagh’s of Fermoy div three football league defeating Killavullen on the above score line at Mitchelstown on Monday night last. Three points from the boot of Aron O Brien following on from his 1-05 on Sunday were instrumental in the victory. A goal from Colin McNamara in the seventeenth minute,two points from Aron O Brien and a white flag from Colin McNamara had the half time score 1-04 to 0-4 in favour of the home team. The opening ten minutes of the second half saw the teams share the spoils with two points each with Towns scores coming from the boot of Stephen Kenneally.Points from P O Gorman, Leon Murphy, Podge Finn and Colin McNamara with just a one pont reply from the opposition saw the final score 1-10 to 0-7. A new life membership was introduced for 2022 at a cost of €1,000 which can be paid in full or two payments of€500 or by direct debit over ten or twenty months. Congratulations to the Presentation Convent Munster camogie champions after their thrilling win on Monday night last. Also to the Funcheon Gael u21 ladies football team who have reached the Co Final which at the time of going to press was due to be played this coming weekend,keep an eye on social media for confirmed fixture.
Rebels Bounty
The April draw took place on Thursday night last and though we had no winner Congratulations must go to Seamus Luddy on winning €1,000 with Ballygiblin Hurling club.
Well Done
Must say well done to Liam O Doherty,Brian Molan,Brian O Gorman,Fionn Herlihy and their team on a fitting tribute to their year with a fantastically organised social and medal presentation at the Firgrove Hotel on Friday evening last,it was ran like clockwork,fair play to all.
