Double win For Footballers

The footballers had double success over the weekend with both teams recording wins in their respective leagues.

Mitchelstown 2-17  Dromtarriffe 0-11

Mitchelstown gathered their second brace of points when they accounted for Dromtarriffe in the Cork Credit Unions football league on the above score line at Mitchelstown on Sunday last. When Aron O Brien scored from the penalty spot in the third minute Mitchelstown were always in control and the same player added three more first half points to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Dylan Reidy Price also raised a green flag and a brace pf points from Sean Walsh, Ml Walsh and Joseph ensured the win was in the bag long before the final whistle.

Mitchelstown 1-10 Killavullen 0-7

Mitchelstown gathered their first win in the Cavanagh’s of Fermoy div three football league defeating Killavullen on the above score line at Mitchelstown on Monday night last. Three points from the boot of Aron O Brien following on from his 1-05 on Sunday were instrumental in the victory. A goal from Colin McNamara in the seventeenth minute,two points from Aron O Brien and a white flag from Colin McNamara had the half time score 1-04 to 0-4 in favour of the home team. The opening ten minutes of the second half saw the teams share the spoils with two points each with Towns scores coming from the boot of Stephen Kenneally.Points from P O Gorman, Leon Murphy, Podge Finn and Colin McNamara with just a one pont reply from the opposition saw the final score 1-10 to 0-7. Field Development Lotto 

The draw took place in Walsh’s Yard Bar on Sat last March 31st . There was no jackpot winner, numbers drawn 3,4,15 and 19. The following were lucky dip winners, Marcus Conroy c/o Paul Roches, Tina Nugent Abbey Farm, Ted Fitzgerald on line. Our next draw will take place on Thurs April 14th  In Walsh’s Lounge Bar with a jackpot of €4,800. Club Membership 2022

This is the last chance to renew or join up for club membership  Club membership for the coming year and is set at €50 for and adult and €30 for a student. It can be paid direct to any club officer, by EFT to IE38BOFI90294446339982 giving name for membership or by logging on to https://mitchelstowngaa.com. All fully paid-up members will be entitled to apply for tickets for the forthcoming Cork matches which begin on Sunday April 17th , they will also  be put on a WhatsApp group which will give instant updates on all club activities for all age groups from adults down to the six-year-olds. A new life membership was introduced for 2022 at a cost of €1,000 which can be paid in full or two payments of€500 or by direct debit over ten or twenty months. Congratulations

Congratulations to the Presentation Convent Munster camogie champions after their thrilling win on Monday night last. Also to the Funcheon Gael u21 ladies football team who have reached the Co Final which at the time of going to press was due to be played this coming weekend,keep an eye on social media for confirmed fixture.

 

Rebels Bounty 

The April draw took place on Thursday night last and though we had no winner Congratulations must go to Seamus Luddy on winning €1,000 with Ballygiblin Hurling club.


Well Done

Must say well done to Liam O Doherty,Brian Molan,Brian O Gorman,Fionn Herlihy and their team on a fitting tribute to their year with a fantastically organised social and medal presentation at the Firgrove Hotel on Friday evening last,it was ran like clockwork,fair play to all.
