Mitchelstown Overcome Glanworth to Advance to semi Final

Mitchelstown.   0 12

Glanworth.       0 06

Mitchelstown played Glanworth last Monday night in the quarter final of the championship. The pitch was in excellent condition considering all the rain that had fallen. Straight from the start Glanworth started the quicker and raced into a 2 point lead in the opening 5 minutes. A point by Stephen Kennelly on the 7th min was quickly followed by a Colm McNamara point to leave the teams level after 15 minutes. Mitchelstown started to get on top in midfield and further points by Dylan Sheehan and Dave Conroy left Mitchelstown O 5 Glanworth 0 3. Mitchelstown started the 2nd half the better with points by Sheehan, Hart and Kennelly putting them 5 ahead at the waterbreak. To be fair Glanworth kept at it and reduced the gap to 3 with 10 minutes remaining, but that was as close as they got. Mitchelstown finished the stronger with points by Leon Murphy, Kennelly and Sheehan that helped them to run out comfortable winners. Team T Nolan, L Keane, A O Shea, A Barry, O Morrissey, D Hart, J Fox, D Sheehan, L Murphy, A O Grady, D Conroy, K Cotter, C Macnamara. Subs R Baker S O Brien
