Cavanaghs Div.2 Football League Final.

Mitchelstown 1-12 Shanballymore 0-10

Town came through a tough game this evening in Fermoy winning the Cavanaghs of Fermoy Div.2 FL title against a very good Shanballymore outfit who kept going until the end. 

This victory was deserved as town took the game to Shanballymore from the outset but it took a goal just on half time to put a little daylight between the sides with town leading by 1-5 to 4 points at the short whistle.

It was nip & tuck again for much of the second half but we had 5 points to spare over our opponents when referee Aidan Hyland blew for full time. 

Board Chairman Barry Aherne officiated over the presentation proceedings which also saw Jason Cott named as Man of the match.

Aidan O'Mahony from Sponsor Cavanaghs was on hand to present the cup to team captain Danny Keane to the delight of the large Mitchelstown support.
