Mitchelstown advanced to the final of the Cavanaghs sponsored Div 1 football league with a game to spare when they defeated Mallow on the above scoreline onWed night june 9th. Mitchelstown playing against the strong breeze in the first half led by two points at halftime thnaks to a Paudie Donegan goal.The second half saw both teams dominate for periods with Mitchelstown getting the upper hand only for Mallow to come back into the game but time was not on there side.
